Mr. Chatterbox is the twentieth book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. He represents the character trait of talking too much and not knowing when to stop.
Fiction[]
Mr. Chatterbox talks too much, oftentimes about things that do not necessarily interest people and also keeps them occupied out of their own politeness. It is either out of his own cluelessness to catch on body language, time spend or he does not care at all.
In his main book, he bothers Walter the Worm, the postman and Mr. Bowler the hat shop owner of whom the latter Mr. Chatterbox requested a new hat. Mr. Bowler, home to a cold dinner due to the time it took, orders a magic hat for Mr. Chatterbox that grows on his speech and thus engulfs him. It grows back in Mr. Chatterbox's silence.
In Mr Chatterbox's Parrot, a loud chatty parrot that started living next to Mr. Quiet is keeping him from proper sleep and Mr. Chatterbox is a nuisance to everyone again. The town gets together to figure out how to get it to stop. On Miss Shy's idea, the parrot is moved to live with Chatterbox. Eventually, even the parrot has enough of the endless chatter and covers Chatterbox in a blanket.
In the musical, Chatterbox is fully aware of how annoying he is and embraces his trait like a prideful antagonist.

Design[]
Chatterbox body is shaped after a cathedral radio, which is the half of a circle, making him (and his sister) one of the few characters of which the design refers to the personality trait. He is a bright pink and his attributes are a dark green tall bowler and blue white sneaker like shoes.
